Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to school! I hope you and your child have had an amazing summer! I am Eddie Hubert and I will be your child’s middle school SAC teacher. The entire team middle school team and I are very much looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year!
Currently I am working on my Masters degree in the adapted curriculum from Western Carolina University and am expecting to complete it in December 2016. This is of course my first year teaching here at Ridge Road and my third teaching overall l but I bring with me a wide variety of work experience with Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled individuals in various settings. Additionally I currently volunteer with the Mecklenburg County Autism Society and am an assistant coach for an area Special Olympics team.
We have a schedule packed with academics and activities this year. We will be working on literacy, math, science, and social studies. Additional activities include art, chorus, media center, technology, band, PE as well as opportunities to join school clubs and activities.
Be sure to check your student’s book bag daily for additional communication! I will write a brief note on most days detailing how the student’s day went and will look forward to receiving any messages you may have left for me on a daily basis. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you so much and I look forward to working with you this school year!
Sincerely,
Eddie L. Hubert
